Painting sunflowers have been my go to subject for over 20 years. They’re my place where I can create for myself, for creative expression and to practice using color and freehand sketching. I hoped to create this colorful piece last month, but time got away from me. Sadly, the sunflower’s image has taken on new meaning this month. As I painted I could not help, but to think of the people of Ukraine and continue to pray for their country and peace.
