I always forget to start a video when I paint! This time I remembered.
Bacterial Meningitis took my fingers when I was 9 months old. But something in me was meant to create art... These missing fingers couldn't stop me. I could draw realistically before I even knew how to write the alphabet. I had surgeries throughout my childhood. As I healed I would pick up a pencil and draw to pass the time. Today, these fingers have created hundreds of pieces of art and carried me to a career some could only dream to have.

Meet Gail, a beautiful, active one-year-old Pit Bull mix ready for for adoption through Friends of the Shelter and the Franklin County Animal Shelter.
Gail is my featured painting in my art exhibit opening next week at McGraw-Hill Education. After the exhibit, this painting will be donated to Friends of the Shelter and will be for sale through their site.
I learned to paint dogs by painting my best friend and my studio pal, Duke. He was my beloved American Bulldog "Pit Bull mix" who sadly left our family this year. After 11 years of experiencing breed discrimination in our own family, I decided to take matters into my own hands-- literally. I love painting these so called "bullies" and showing off their sweet peaceful nature.
My art exhibit will be on display at McGraw-Hill Education from November 4 through January 1. This is my second exhibit with McGraw-Hill Education.
Gail came to the animal shelter as a shy dog with a belly ache. They discovered shortly after her arrival that her pain was an obstruction in her stomach nearly killing her. Thanks to Friends of the Shelter, she received a life saving surgery. She has now completely recovered from her surgery and looks and feels great.
She is eager to find a home of her own! Want to get more exercise? Action is my middle name. My 'let's GO!' lifestyle will keep you motivated to get outside and move. I've got tons of energy, and just like the sun, I'm burning and working 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I'll run for miles, chase a ball for hours, and still want to play at the end of the day.
She is still an avid chewer and needs to be entertained with indestructible toys and get plenty of exercise. Gail would be best suited for an active individual or family who enjoys daily walks or frequent trips to the dog park to exhaust her mentally and physically. A fenced in backyard would be a plus too. Vet reference required for adoption.
If you are interested in meeting Gail, please submit your completed application including your vet reference to Erin via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or via fax at 614 525 6658. Once your application has been received and processed, we will put you in touch with Gail's foster mom to arrange a meeting.
